Letters Go To Berlin
I was surprised to this news; Letters From Iwo Jima will be shown at the 57th Berlin International Film Festival (a.k.a. Berlinale) next month!
Source: Sports Houchi: 16 January 2007, 06:06 (JST) (in Japanese)
I've searched at the Berlinale official website and found this press release:
Jan 15, 2007: New films by Ruzowitzky, Rivette, Témoins, Nava, Eastwood, Schrader, Costanzo and Menzel nominated for the Berlinale Competition (in English)
So, Letters will be run out of competition, though selected for Competition, am I right? Hmmmm.
Also, I noticed that they have already put up film stills on the website. Nothing new but it's exciting to see Nino's photo there.... ^-^

Which city are you from? It'd be good for you if you can get tickets for both movies. ^_^ Is it easy to get tix for the Berlinale??
I'm going to local cinema to watch Tekkon tomorrow. I can't wait! ^o^
Well I don't think that you know my city. It's such a small little German town which nobody knows. XD But it's near Heidelberg and just 1 hour away from Frankfurt. So, in the south of Germany.
Hm, I have to admit that I don't know if it is easy to get Berlinale tix. I haven't been there yet. ^^;;; But my friend whos living in Berlin always gets tix for the Japanese movie which is aired there. So I think that it isn't that hard to get a ticket.
Oh then I wish you lots of fun with Tekkon today! ^^
You are from Japan, right? So lucky!! ^.^
I know where Heidelberg is, so I can imagine whereabout it is. Isn't it a bit too far from Berlin? Hope you can get Berlinale tickets if you decide to go. ^_^
Yes, I'm from Japan - I think I'm very lucky enough as Arashi fan cos I can get info about them easily here.... As I once lived and studied in two countries in Europe, so I know how difficult it is to get information about Japanese culture when you live outside Japan. It's really amazing to know there are many fans of Arashi in Europe, too! ^-^
